What is the Storyblocks Snapshots (in beta) asset offering?

Storyblocks Snapshots (in beta) offering allows contributors to earn more by providing customers still images derived from their existing video content to customers. Eligible 4K footage and motion backgrounds are processed by Storyblocks to extract stills from video. These images are then added to a new "Snapshots" category in the library, offering customers more variety and updated visuals. Contributors earn compensation for each download of these images, creating an additional revenue stream from their existing content.

Why is Storyblocks creating Snapshots?

Our customers have asked for a wider selection of diverse and relevant images, and expanding the library with Snapshots helps meet that demand. Storyblocks will clearly label these assets, distinguishing between original images and these video-derived images.

How will I earn through this initiative?

Contributors will earn through the Member Library Partner Program. When the Snapshot exports are downloaded by customers, contributors will receive compensation just as they do with video content. Each download of a Snapshot image contributes to your overall earnings, creating a new opportunity to monetize your existing video content.

How do I opt in or out of the Storyblocks Snapshots (in beta) asset offering?

You can opt in or out by clicking the survey link provided in the email notification within 14 days. If you do not respond to the survey link, your eligible content will be opted in. Contact our support team at partner@storyblocks.com for assistance.

Is there a guarantee of earnings through the program?

Earnings for Snapshots (in beta) are determined by the same factors that affect your existing video downloads, such as the number of downloads of your content, overall downloads across the library and the relative performance of your content, and the type of customer downloading the content. While there is no guarantee of earnings, the initiative is designed to create an additional potential revenue stream for contributors who opt in.

How much can I expect to earn through the program?

Earnings will vary the same way they do in the existing partner pool.

Can I opt in after initially opting out?

Yes, you can opt in later by contacting us at partner@storyblocks.com. We can consider including your content in future expansions of the Snapshots asset offering.

Can I remove Snapshots from the image library?

Contributors can remove Snapshots from the image library at any time with 30 days' notice, just like their video content. To request removal, please complete our opt out form or contact partner@storyblocks.com for assistance. Please note that when video assets are removed, any associated Snapshots will also be removed.

Can I view my expected earnings on the contributor portal dashboard?

Currently we do not have this functionality built out in the contributor portal for this pilot phase, however we are hoping to get this feature added soon. We will update contributors with any developments and/or changes as we have more to share.

When will the first payout be for Snapshots?

We will share any updates with contributors prior to the first payout. Payouts for Snapshots will aligned with payout dates for other video content, which is on or around the 15th of the month.

Can I select specific content items to opt in or out of Snapshots?

Currently, contributors can only opt in their entire eligible video portfolio. We do not have the functionality built out to exclude some items. If this changes in the future, we will let contributors know.

Will this apply to all of my content?

Only 4k footage content is eligible. Templates for example, will not be a part of our Snapshots offering.

How will I know if my content is eligible for the program?

During the beta phase, Support will not be able to provide eligibility lists. We may build this functionality out in the future.

What happens to new uploads to the platform based on my opt in/opt out status?

New assets uploaded by contributors who have opted in to the program will be eligible for use in this initiative; new assets of contributors who have opted out will not. During our beta phase we will publish video stills and based on how customers value this new offering, we may generate additional assets.

Has the contributor agreement been updated to reflect these changes?

Will this be a one time asset offering or ongoing with more Snapshots added regularly?

We do not have current plans to publish Snapshots on an ongoing basis. If this changes in the future, we will let you know.

When will Snapshots be available to Storyblocks customers?

While we can’t supply an exact date yet to contributors, we may update contributors in our monthly newsletter with any launch dates or details. We expect to begin offering Snapshots to customers as early as 2024.
