Storyblocks values standards are focused on three areas:

  • Diversity
Our library and content includes a variety of creators who authentically portray people and communities that are underrepresented in stock media.

  • Accessibility
We want our library content to represent people of all socioeconomic statuses and abilities.

  • In-demand Content
We're committed to prioritizing content that our customers are searching for, but may not be finding enough of in our library.

Below are examples of each and more details:

Diversity

We strive to be a library filled to the brim with content that more accurately reflects today’s real world. We're working to build a library that represents real people in real-life scenes.

Diversity encompasses:

  • Appeal to global audience

  • Representation of racial diversity

  • Representation of diverse body types

  • Members of the LGBTQIA+ community

Examples of global appeal:
Our customers are located all over the world! They are looking for footage of people who look like they do. And if their storytelling extends to other parts of the globe, they still want to see footage of real people in those locales.

Examples of representation of racial diversity

Our content brand aims to be fully bias-free and authentic, by ensuring that we build a library that is representative of the world we live in today.

This includes shooting content with models of diverse racial backgrounds, including:

  • Black

  • Asian

  • Native American

  • Indigenous People

  • Middle Eastern

  • Hispanic or Latinx

Examples of representation of diverse body types
Our goal as a content brand is to populate our library with imagery that is inclusive and truly represents the wide spectrum of human physical body types.

Examples of members of the LGBTQIA+ community:
Our library represents a wide and inclusive spectrum of human sexuality and gender.

Accessibility

  • Representation of all socioeconomic statuses

  • Representation of people with disabilities

Examples of representation of all socioeconomic statuses:

Our goal is to tell real stories by using our library as an opportunity to depict an authentic visual mix of celebration, real struggles, and the pleasantly mundane nature of everyday life, at all socioeconomic levels.

Examples of representation of people with disabilities:

According to the WHO, 15% of the global population has some type of disability. Our footage should visualize ADA-compliant, adaptable environments and fill visual gaps that depict the everyday lives of people with disabilities. We strive to display these individuals in an authentic light, integrated naturally into scenes. Disabilities expand well beyond a wheelchair to include people with neurodiversity.

In-demand Content

We strive to build the most relevant, inspiring, and high-quality library.

  • Surfacing trending topics

  • Preparing for tomorrow's world

Examples of surfacing trending topics:

Trending topics will change over time, based on customer demand. We look for gaps in customer needs and routinely update our in-demand content dashboard.

Examples of preparing for tomorrow's world:

Our team forecasts what types of content will not only be relevant today, but will stand the test of time. We ensure that all content we accept meets the current needs and user demands for visual media. In addition, we will elevate and account for visual trends (i.e. new/trending shot angles, color trends) + technical trends ( i.e. 360° formats, 6K+ resolutions, etc). These library needs will be communicated here in our help center and on our in-demand content dashboard.
